We don't waste much time to decide and immediately jump to the museum like entrance of Dragon-i. Someone was obviously excited and lead us directly to the dining hall.
The stylish classic-modern fusion ambiance of this restaurant make it more delightful to the eye while enjoying your authentic Chinese meal.
Everything was elegant, from the suspended ritzy lighting, snazzy cushioned chairs, wooden antique like tables and elaborate dragon design wall. All we could see was pleasant to the eyes.
A medium size plate, Chinese Spoon, flower shape saucer, Wooden type Chopsticks and wet tissues was laid individually beforehand on our table.
Before we utter our orders, a small plate of steamed garlic peanuts was handed on our table as an appetizer. The food servants had already a clue that we're starving. The softness of peanut, made us think this had been steamed for so many hours to achieve this kind of tenderness.
After a few chit chat, our main dish was served. Fried Hand Sliced La Mian with Sliced Beef and Steam Rice with Pork Chops and Potatoes (below). The fresh hand pulled noodles of La Mian make a big difference of it's taste. A hint of light soy sauce, topped with fresh bean sprouts and garnish made this meal extra-ordinary. The tender sliced beef complements well on this course. It's sweet and it's medium spicy kick made us more crave of this saucy noodle dish.
The Steam Rice with Pork Chops and Potatoes didn't impress us at all, and something is missing. But I'll look forward to have second look on this dish. It might be overshadowed by our first bite of that flavorful noodle dish.
For our side dish we got Crispy Spring Rolls and Steamed Meat Dumplings with Celery. Spring Rolls or Popiah as what they called it here in Malaysia, had reminded me of our version Lumpia. The crispiness and flavorsome stuffings of Spring rolls was enough to compensate our disappointment from the other dish. The Steamed meat dumplings with celery had caught us to by a surprise. The newly mince meat stuff on this hand made dumplings boost it's natural flavor. The simplicity of this dish make it as winner.
Ice Jasmie Tea With Hawaian Passion Fruit was a perfect pair to wash down the delish food. The jasmine flavor was overpowered by the tangy-sweetness of Passion fruit, which Summer gave a two thumbs up.
For our dessert we got Vanilla Sago Cream with Mixed Fruits. The best thing about this sweet course was, it didn't rely on it's artificial sweetness. It call came naturally from the fruits and the sago cream had magically augmented it's taste. Who wants some?
Dragon-i somehow exceeds our expectation and 70RM++ meal was all worth it. We just found out, their chefs was came from mainland China. Thus, makes sense of it's Chinese food authenticity. We commend this restaurant if you're looking for that bona fide Chinese treat.
